Postcards from Kos

Hi everyone! I'm back from a fabulous two week break in gorgeous Greece. The past few days have flown by, while getting back into a routine and tackling the dreaded unpacking and washing! I've also been sorting through the million photos I snapped and I'm excited to share my first round up today, all about the island of Kos where we stayed. I'll do dedicated outfit posts over the weekend :)

It was my first time to visit Greece and I loved it even more than I could have imagined! Kos is a beautiful island, nice and small and very easy to get around. We stayed in the Sensimar Oceanis Beach & Spa resort, located a short 15 minute drive from Kos town itself. The resort was stunning, one of the most beautiful I have stayed in, with wonderful staff who went above and beyond to make our holiday even more memorable!

Located on its own private beach, the resort is adults only and we went with the all-inclusive option. The food was incredible, with something catering for all tastes. I'm seriously missing the delicious buffet meals this week!

With a beautiful spa, two pools to relax by, a jam packed schedule of activities during day and entertainment at night, we couldn't have asked for anything more and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Oceanis resort.

We ventured out for dinner on two evenings. The first was to celebrate my fabulous friend Aoife's 30th birthday. We went to a nearby restaurant, Lofaki, nestled high up in the hills and famed for it's stunning sunset views. It certainly didn't disappoint!

We also took an evening trip to the mountain village of Zia, taking in more stunning scenes and a beautiful sunset over dinner. We enjoyed a delicious meal in a restaurant called Oromedon, where the food was every bit as divine as the views!

I celebrated my birthday in Kos too and my amazing friend Anthony organised a private boat for the day! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday and it will definitely be a hard one to top! We boarded the Zeus day cruise in the harbour town of Kardamena and we were treated like Kings and Queens for the day by our fabulous hosts Kate and Nick.

We toured around three different locations, with time set aside for exploring and swimming. After a yummy barbeque lunch on board, our final destination, Bubble Beach, was one we were all looking forward to. Here we had the opportunity to see the amazing volcanic bubbles beneath the water, rising like thousands of crystals from the sea bed!

Towards the end of our trip, we spent a day exploring Kos town taking in the sights and picking up little souvenirs in the markets. For an island so popular with tourists, it was lovely to see that it has retained so much of its own charm and character.

So it's official, I've fallen in love with Greece and I can't wait to check more islands off my travel bucket list :)

Happy almost Friday!

Denim skirts....

Morning All:) Hope everyone is enjoying the fabulous sunshine, although it has cooled back a little here today but at least it feels like summer has properly arrived:)
I haven't been doing too much sales shopping, but like to think the pieces I bought were considered purchases!
A denim skirt was on my list and I think the below the knee style suits me best! I found this one for €9 in New Look the other day and thought it would be great with sandals or sneakers for casual day wear.

Top|Bought on holiday in Portugal
Sandals|Mango
Skirt|New Look (similar here)
Straw Bag|F&F @Tesco
Necklace|Dyrberg/Kern

I am wearing mine here with a simple white top and my blank Mango sandals I bought on sale also for €19. They are actually really comfortable on:)

Here are a few more styling ideas for denim skirts I love....

Love this casual style with espadrilles and crossbody bag....

Worn with a sweater and sneakers for cooler days! This would also look fab with a striped breton!

Another pretty day look with a printed blouse and heels...

Or pair with a simple vest and mules to keep cool on a sunny day:)

Hopefully this lovely warm weather will stick around for a while, as I haven't had much opportunity to wear my summer clothes, since arriving home from Portugal! Laura will be back next week with some fab summer style from her holiday in Kos!!

Take Care:)

Sass and Boho Candles....

Last week we were delighted to receive two gorgeous candles from Sass and Boho. Based in Pomeroy Co Tyrone, these luxury candles are handcrafted using all natural fragrances and essential oils, in a blend of soy, vegetable and palm wax.

There is no paraffin used in theses candles and the wicks are also 100% cotton making for a very clean burning candle.

We love the two scents we tried. The vetiver and leather has a fabulous woody musky smell, while in complete contrast, the sweet tart has the perfect summery fruity smell, that fills the room with a gorgeous fresh aroma.

I buy and burn a lot of candles and they only ever appeal to me if you can still smell the scent long after they have been blown out-these beauties certainly passed that all important test!

If you are interested in finding out more about this brand or would like to purchase a beautiful new candle, all the details and pricing are here.

Hope you are all having a good week:)

Take Care!

Beautiful Bellamianta

Hi everyone and happy weekend. I'm just about to jet off to sunny Kos for two weeks and I am so excited! But first, I wanted to pop in to tell you all about my new favourite tan from Bellamianta.
With two products in the mix, a lotion and a mousse, the tan has been making waves in the social media world for the past few months, with glowing results! Bellamianta kindly sent us some a couple of products to try out and I couldn't wait to give them a go.

I have used lots of tans over the years and definitely have my favourites - so I was comparing this on a number of different factors including smell, application, colour and lasting power. It passed on all accounts and has shot straight to the top of my tanning products list! I also have to point out how fabulous the Bellamianta Luxury Tanning mitt is - it feels super soft and the velvety texture means tan glides on like a dream.

Bellamianta is all organic, so it doesn't have that nasty fake tan smell. Yes, there is still a strong scent but more along the lines of orange chocolate, I think! As I said, it was really smooth to apply and what I loved about it, is that the colour came up straight away - so it's easy to see where you are putting it. It also dries into the skin very quickly. I applied it before bed and woke up the next morning feeling like I had spent two weeks in the sun! The colour was so natural, a gorgeous golden brown. I did a quick rinse that morning and didn't have any trouble with tan rubbing off onto my clothes. In terms of staying power, the tan lasts for well over a week and fades away with no patchiness whatsoever. Win, win!

It's great to see another Irish brand delivering such a fantastic product and I can't wait to try out the mousse next! For Bellamianta stockists, click here.

Have a lovely weekend and I'll be sure to check in from Greece with all my holiday updates! Follow along on Instagram @stylebylaura and @lustrous.ie or Snapchat {lb717}

Some Shiny Holiday Moments.....

Hi everyone! Hope you are all in good form:) I am just back from sunny Portugal with the family where we spent a fabulous week near the pretty fishing village of Carvoeiro.

These are a few of my holiday favourite snaps.

The stunning beaches are simply magnificent and even more so when they are uncrowded and secluded.

I loved my sunny morning strolls for coffee before it got too hot!!

and I'm already missing my daily morning coffee with a seaview!

We loved exploring the winding streets of the pretty nearby village....

Best part of the afternoon, cooling down after pooltime with the nicest Mojitos I have ever had!!

Enjoyed super summery salads for lunch bursting with flavour:)

I loved this pretty little corner where you can relax and have a drink, whist waiting for a table in the restaurant. Those tile benches are so gorgeous:)

Really wishing this tree could have come home with me!! The gardens of our complex were kept immaculate and the plants were just so pretty.

And I now have a major obsession with patterned tile!!

Hope you all have a great week:)
Take Care!
