Autumnal evenings....

I love autumn, in fact I'd go so far as to say it is definitely my favourite season. The cooler evenings and dark nights are the best excuse to cosy up on a big sofa surrounded by your favourite cushions, throws and of course a few gorgeous candles lighting always add to the overall ambience!

Here are a few simple style ideas I'm liking, to set the autumnal tone even if you are not quite feeling it yet!

Have a wicker basket with lots of cosy throws to hand...

Woolly socks, a warm fire and big mug of tea whilst reading, just perfect.....

Add a little autumnal decor with seasonal pumpkins to the rooms....

I just love the collection of chunky pillar candles on the table here.....

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! I can't quite believe it's October already tomorrow!

Star Gazing...

This evening we're taking you star gazing with a peek at some of the prettiest cosmic prints around this season. Cropping up in a galaxy of shapes and sizes, on everything from blouses to boots -  star prints are certainly having a moment!

These are just a few pieces that have caught our eye recently...

New Look Dress | Zara Dress | New Look Top | Zara Boots | River Island Shirt

I'm loving that khaki shirt which could also be worn open as a jacket over your favourite pair of denims. As for the bardot top, I can't get enough (see here)! This one would look fab teamed with faux leather trousers.

So that's it, just a few more additions to my autumn shopping list....that is growing by the day!

Hope you are having a great week so far :)

Outfit Diaries

Happy Saturday everyone! So glad the weekend is here after a busy but fun week. I had a cosy Friday night in with a Gilmore Girls marathon (late to the party but the addiction is real!) and I'm meeting the girls for a birthday dinner later on this evening. Roll on the cocktails!

I'm popping in today with a couple of outfit posts that I shared on Instagram (@stylebylaura) during the week. Lots of you asked for links to buy and advice on size etc., so I thought I would put all all of the details here in one place!

I picked this Zara shirt up when I started my new job a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It's crisp cotton, not at all see through and the embroidery detail adds a nice point of difference to your regular white shirt! The wide sleeves are lovely too and I think it's the perfect smart/casual piece. I wore it with trousers this time but it will work equally well with jeans. The shirt is quite oversized and I went for a size small. My navy skinny trousers are from Penneys and only €10. They are an amazing work staple and I'll definitely be going back for a pair in black. With a side zip, high waist and flat front panel, they are super comfy for everyday wear. My bag is Mulberry and the shoes are last year from good old Dunnes!

On Friday, I just wanted to be cosy and pulled this sleeveless blush coat out of my closet! I have this a couple of years now but it's a great staple I always go back to. It's the perfect piece for pulling an otherwise ordinary (cream top and black jeans) look together. I've found an almost identical one on SheIn (on sale!) if anyone is interested. Alternatively, google 'sleeveless waterfall jacket' as there seems to be plenty of similar styles out there at the moment!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Shiny Moments....

Hello and a very happy Sunday to everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying September, time is really flying by these days.

Here are some of our recent shiny moments...

I made fruit scones with almond flour this week and loved how they turned out! This months Tatler is also fabulous, full of wonderful inspiration for a/w. Anne

Loved the sunny warm mornings we had last week, no need for coats just yet, although looking outside at the rain today, that could be all set to change next week!!

I was thrilled to get this beautiful jewellery set from Tara at Far Fetched Accessories and I'm so looking forward to wearing them! Laura

The weekend started off with yummy pre-Bridget cocktails in Zizi Dundrum with my bestie! I loved the original Bridget Jones movies and have to say, this one might just be the funniest of the lot! It was so long since I've had a cinema night and I'm thinking they'll have to become more regular this autumn...especially if there's bubbles involved! Laura

We hope you all have a great week ahead!

V by Very launch at Littlewoods....

This debut collection was launched by Littlewoods Ireland in The Smock Alley Theatre Dublin on Wednesday evening, and it was a fabulous night of fashion, with some gorgeous a/w 16 pieces on show:)

There are four key looks in this new collection:

New Blush.

This is the 'it' colour of the season and looks amazing blended with shades of grey denim or black! This stunning grey and blush coat above is one of our favourites here at Lustrous
 from the new collection.

After Dark Glam.

With a throwback to the 80s, this look showcased some stunning leopard and floral bombers, velvet mini dresses, cropped cigarette pants and statement flats.

Uptown Boho.

The boho trend is still very popular and there are some lovely embellished tops, fringed skirts and over the knee boots in this new collection.

My favourite is this print maxi dress for casual day wear with a denim jacket or a low key night out worn with a leather jacket!

Sports-Luxe Tailoring

This style has been given a sporty edge with stripes down wide leg trousers skinny rib tops with military mini skirts and sporty trainers.

These are just a selection of  pieces from the new V By Very range at Littlewoods, to view the complete collection log on here

Have a great weekend:)

The New Florals

Happy Sunday all! I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend so far.

I've been a bad blogger of late - with summer wrapping up and preparing to start my new job on Monday, the weeks have just flown by!

But I'm back and ready to embrace autumn in all its fabulous fashion! I thought I'd start by sharing a recent outfit from my trip to Belfast last week. Those of you who follow on Instagram will already have seen that I wore that Zara dress that everyone will recognise this season. It was love at first sight when I spotted it a few weeks ago and it seems the blogosphere agrees - it must pop up on my feeds daily at this stage! I love the long sleeves and the high low hemline. It's very floaty, meaning it was the perfect choice for a carb heavy Italian meal.

It was my first foray into florals this season and spurred me on to do a little more online browsing. It seems florals have taken on a new twist for AW16. No longer appearing as prints alone, embroidering is what it's all about, with florals splashed across every fabric imaginable. From trusty denims to crisp cottons, it's easy to add some colour to your everyday basics. Here's a few that caught my eye...

New Look Shirt | Topshop Skirt | River Island Jeans | Zara Shirt & Clutch

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)
