The Weekend Edit

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone...and hello long weekend!

Our starting point for this Weekend Edit had to be green, of course! We're also embracing all things pastel, influenced by the much milder weather we seem to be experiencing of late. Could Spring finally be here to stay...let's hope so!

We love the minty fresh mood of this gorgeous Zara top teamed with off white skinny jeans from Topshop. The Zara coat is also high on Laura's payday wishlist, having fallen head over heels for it in-store last week. Cute blush flats from Dune paired with a buttery beige (swoon) Chloe Faye bag, finish off this pastel pretty look.

There you have it, our take on a stylish green, white and gold ensemble for the day that's in it!

Flower Power....

The floral trend is huge this spring, in fact it never really goes out of fashion and I for one love to see the new prints appear in store:)

It lifts the spirits in a big way after a winter of wearing heavy woollen knits!

These are some of my favourite floral picks....

You can't go wrong with a simple dress and this pretty spring bouquet wrap dress from Oasis fits the bill to perfection!

I also purchased this wrap lotus print top as it's a great fit, and I thought it would be lovely with culottes for a spring event or dressed down with daytime denims for a casual look.

Absolutely love this statement embroidered jacket from Zara - it would also look fab with leather skinnies and black strappy sandals.

This gorgeous sateen floral bomber jacket is on sale at Littlewoods Ireland at the moment for €32.50 A handy little number to give your wardrobe a quick spring lift!

Florals are also great for accessorising  spring/summer outfits and the colours are just beautiful in this bag from  River island.

Here is a little extra flower power to wish you all a very happy international Women's day!

Take Care:)

The Weekend Edit...

Happy Friday everyone! Is it just us, or was that week extra long? We're so looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, with zero plans!

We've taken inspiration from Pinterest for today's Weekend Edit, recreating a gorgeous street style look that caught our attention recently...

Although it's not bare leg weather just yet, this denim midi skirt is a Spring wardrobe essential. We love the layered look of the jumper with the blue shirt - simple but so chic! Sleek black accessories complete the look, along with a metallic clutch to add a little sparkle. Some of you will remember this bag from a few weeks ago - a sale bargain from Whistles that we featured with this outfit. Aside from the fact we love it so much, we've styled it up again to just how versatile it is!

Casual spring footwear....

Happy March! Hopefully now that its officially spring-time, the weather will improve and we can wear some nice casual footwear instead of our heavy winter boots and socks!

Here are a few new styles I'm loving this season...

Two great casual styles above new in from Zara ... perfect worn with jeans, leather skirts or leisure wear for that effortless downtime look:)

Gorgeous suede pink loafers to add a little spring colour to your attire from H&M for €44.99

I love these metallic punch hole trainers from M&S, great value
for everyday wear with your favourite denims, a steal at €27.99

These luxe leather loafers from Topshop would look fab paired with tailored cropped trousers and a colourful spring knit or shirt!

Hope you are all having a good week:)

The Weekend Edit

With Spring taking its sweet time to arrive, we're sticking to muted tones for this week's Weekend Edit. That being said, soft greys are a favourite all year round and this look could easily transition into summer with white jeans and lighter heels!

I came across this coat in River Island a couple of weeks ago and loved it straight away. The quality is incredible and it gets brownie points for having a removable faux fur collar - hello spring!

Knitwear doesn't have to be reserved for daytime alone, and the bardot neckline on this Warehouse jumper makes it an ideal choice for an evening look. You could go even more glam with leather trousers and barely there sandals.

We are loving these shoe boots from the new V by Very collection at Littlewoods. I already have them in the tan version and they will definitely be getting lots of wear during the months ahead!

Spring scarves are also an essential and we couldn't resist adding a pop of pink with this pretty Katie Loxton blanket scarf from Far Fetched Accessories.

Hope everyone has a fab weekend! We're looking forward to a lovely Mothers and Daughters lunch with Viviscal tomorrow - be sure to follow along on our Instagrams :)

The Weekend Edit

It's Friday and we've got the best type of blues....thanks to this gorgeous blazer from River Island!
It had to be the star piece in this week's Weekend Edit.

Having had a similar blazer in a camel colour last year, once I clocked eyes on this, it went straight to the top of my Spring wishlist. The powdery blue tone is so fresh and equally as gorgeous with denim as it is with white jeans. The fabric is also super lightweight and comfortable to move in. Some blazers can feel so restricted!

I've kept the rest of the look simple with a little scalloped blouse - the dainty sleeves add an extra pop of pretty for when you slip the jacket off.

To complement the cool tones, I've finished off the look with some gorgeous mixed metallics. This leather bag is a really versatile piece - perfect for any summer occasion, day or night. It's on sale at the moment, making it an even more enticing investment piece!

Spring Knits....

Ok whilst we are still experiencing winter temperatures here in Ireland, we live in hope the day will  come when we can shed the cosy oversized woollies and don a simple stylish spring knit! Going without a heavy coat over it would just be the icing on the cake!!

So while we dream of warmth and spring, here are a few of my new favourite knitwear styles....

A lovely pink ruffle sleeved knit from Zara

A pale blue simple style from & other stories

Love the button detail on this classy knit from Lucy Nagle

The Autograph pure Cashmere selection from M&S is perfect for any occasion and there are several colours to choose from....

If you like a stripe like me, this fine knit cotton style with a silk border from Cos is lovely:) I bought the same style last year and got loads of wear from it!

For adding an understated touch of glamour, this off shoulder style from Finery London would be perfect to pair with your favourite jeans or a statement skirt for a special evening out....

Benetton have recently launched their TV3100 range of sweaters, named after the postal code of area of Treviso where the brand was first founded. Crafted from a blend of merino and cashmere, this lightweight style is perfect for Spring - and it comes in six colours!

Hope you are all having a good week :)

The Weekend Edit

Happy Saturday everyone!

We've just finished our favourite breakfast of the week while sipping tea and scrolling through what's new on our favourite sites. Bliss!

In this week's Weekend Edit, we're taking basic pieces and showing how a few statement accessories can really make an outfit pop.

It all started with the shoes...oh the shoes! How fabulous are these Topshop beauties?! Perfect for adding a bit of glam to your staple skinny jeans. We're sure that everyone owns a stripe t-shirt like this one and a good leather jacket is a wardrobe essential. With Valentine's Day on the horizon, we couldn't resist topping this look off with this adorable Kate Spade arm candy. Casual but cool, this is a perfect date night ensemble!

Outfit Diaries

Hi everyone, just popping in with a quick outfit post from Friday night :)
I was heading to Sophie's for drinks with friends and fancied something new for the occasion! This top instantly caught my eye when I popped into River Island earlier that afternoon.

You'll know from previous posts that I'm obsessed with statement sleeve details at the moment  - and I loved how billowy these ones were. The pop of colour was also just what I was looking for; to update my staple faux leather trousers from Zara. Simple and comfy :)

The Weekend Edit

Hi everyone and happy first Friday of February!

In today's 'Weekend Edit', we're styling up a soft palette of cosy neutrals -  we'll do anything to introduce some light amidst the dreariness outside!

While we both love (and live in) our skinny jeans, it's nice to break the mould every now and again. J Brand's Houlihan cargo pants have been high on my wishlist for quite some time, so I thought I'd have some fun styling them up for this post.

I've gone for a smart look today, teaming them with these western style boots from River Island, but they'd look equally chic with a pair of Stan Smiths. A flouncy knit from Zara softens the military / western vibes, topped off with a creamy coat that just looks so cosy! It would be rude not to include this beautiful Chloe Faye bag in a neutral round up - and doesn't she finish off this look perfectly!

Now all I need is for everything to magically appear in my closet before my brunch date tomorrow...:)

The Weekend Edit

And just like that, it's Friday again!

With temperatures taking a serious plunge yesterday (so.cold.), our second edition of the Weekend Edit is styled with cosy layers in mind.

This weekend uniform starts with the staples - Zara skinny jeans and a cosy knit from And Other Stories. I then added a statement coat from River Island to give the whole look a lift. You really can't go wrong with a piece like this and the colour is perfect for brightening up these last days of January!

The cream boots were chosen purely to match the jewel in the crown of this ensemble....the stunning handbag. Pure Italian leather, this quilted beauty is from Primp & Style and it was love at first sight when I spied it on Instagram during the week. At €140, it's a little slice of affordable luxury and again, a piece that will go with everything you own!

The Weekend Edit

A big happy Friday everyone!

We're excited to launch a brand new series on Lustrous.ie today! Every Friday, we'll be styling up an outfit with the weekend in mind. 'The Weekend Edit' will include all things fresh and new on the high street, along with a wishlist item or too. It's all about balance, right?!

Laura's starting point for today's post was this beautiful funnel neck jumper with fluted sleeves...

Available in the two colours above, this M&S (yes, M&S!) jumper has become somewhat of a bloggers fave over the past few weeks - and we can see why! Wide sleeves are a huge trend at the moment and they add a lovely twist to this simple sweater. Paired with skinny jeans, it makes the perfect statement. Today, I've teamed it with a grey coat from Zara, as I just adore a blush and grey colour combination!

Office have added a few new colours to their range of ever popular 'Chloe-esque' studded boots and this taupe colour is a must for the brighter months ahead. The cherry on top is this beautiful Gucci Marmont mini cross body bag - simply divine!

Hope you enjoyed our first Weekend Edit and got some inspiration. If you'd like to suggest a theme for upcoming posts, pop us a mail on hello@lustrous.ie. We'd love to hear from you :)

Outfit Diaries: December

Happy Saturday everyone!
Well we made it through the first week back to reality and doesn't it make that weekend feeling even sweeter? I'm appreciating every moment of this slow Saturday morning :)

Before launching into a new year of fashion posts, I thought I'd share a quick round up of some outfits from December...

This Zara aviator style jacket was one of my best buys of the season. It's faux fur lined and the cosiest thing ever! I teamed it with my staple faux leather trousers here and a simple blush pink top.

Another great Zara buy was this little red playsuit (that looks more like a dress). Floaty and so easy to wear, this is a piece that I'll definitely pull out again in the summer. It was a bargain at €30!

On Christmas Day, I thought the Penneys Star Dress would be perfectly festive. I managed to keep  it on for a least 5 hours before changing back into PJs!

Myself and my bestie treated ourselves to a little spa getaway to the fab Ice House Hotel in Mayo (I'll do a full post on that next week) between Christmas and New Year. I packed one of my favourite black dresses to wear to dinner and accessorised with my Mulberry Lily bag.

I got picked this jacket up in the Zara Black Friday sale. It's perfect for walks and I'm obsessed with the furry oversized hood. Speaking of obsession, all of my rose gold dreams came true when I spotted these Nikes online and had to hunt them down immediately!

A little sparkle is essential for New Years Eve, especially when you are in the depths of the dreaded flu! Sequins and red lippie definitely helped me feel better.

Have a great weekend and here's to a fabulous 2017!

Black Friday at Carraig Donn

It's here...the best shopping day of the year! Happy Black Friday everyone :)

I'm delighted to team up with Carraig Donn today to showcase some of their fab collections! When it came to putting together my Black Friday Wishlist, I was spoiled for choice with their gorgeous range of knitwear and outerwear.

And the good news? There's an amazing 30% off EVERYTHING on Carraig Donn between 9am-12pm this morning and 20% off throughout the rest of the day.

Here are my top picks...
My obsession with grey is still going strong, so this funnel neck jumper instantly caught my eye. It is so soft and cosy and I love the high neck. It comes in blush too and at €27.97, it makes sense to bag the two!

I also loved this cashmere mix sweater by Tandem. The front pockets add a nice bit of detail and it's the perfect piece for throwing on with jeans or faux leather trousers. It's down to €24.97 this morning!

You can't go wrong with a great cape for A/W, and this navy one is an absolute bargain at only €27.97. I'm obsessed with the oversized furry hood!

While having a browse, I also stumbled into the Christmas shop (couldn't resist!). These brown berry pieces are stunning! I'm so excited to get decorating this weekend.

Happy shopping and have a fabulous weekend :)

Wearing and decorating with winter whites.....

We love a touch of winter white here at Lustrous, it has a lovely way of keeping things fresh and bright looking on dark dreary days! From chunky knits to cosy throws and cushions, there are endless ways to introduce this colourway to your winter attire and decor schemes!

Here are a few of our favourites ideas using this pretty colour palette.

Lounging in comfy oversized  knits.....

Keeping warm with chunky white gloves and steaming hot choccies....

We love a stylish oversized neutral scarf, so pretty and practical on a cold winters day....

Twinkling tealights or small white candles look delightful grouped together on a long dining table

Snuggle up in a cosy corner, mug in hand with a favourite book to read...nothing beats this on a cold wintery afternoon!

Loving this white on white bedroom scheme....

Wishing you all a lovely cosy weekend:)
